Meet Javiera

Javiera is a Project Manager at Interpro. She is from Santiago, Chile, and earned a BA in English Linguistics and Literature from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She also ventured into an MA in Contemporary Hispanic Literature, but almost by the end of it realized she just loved localization and translation too much, so she went straight to working in that industry again.

She is very passionate about languages and loves working with a global team – so Interpro is perfect in that sense! Aside from providing support to the Project Management team at the company, Javiera loves working out, spending time with her greyhound and cat, practicing her digital illustration skills, reading and learning new languages.

If tomorrow you could speak another language fluently, which would it be?

Japanese, Chinese and Italian.

How did you get into the translation services industry?

From very early on I enjoyed literature and words in general, so it only made sense to go into a major related to that, and since I had lived in South Africa during my teenage years, English just seemed like it would open even more doors and opportunities to travel and experience new cultures. My first semester at college I discovered translation, and from then on, I actually never stopped working on it!

Favorite places traveled abroad:

The Kruger Park, Rio de Janeiro and New York; tons of fun and full of adventures.
